Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that petitioner was arrested on the basis of statement of coaccused and is in custody for more than 10 months. The subject matter of the case relates to alleged recovery of 300 bottles of Phensedyl. Charges have already been framed and witness action has commenced.

Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail.

Having considered the period of detention of the petitioner and the quantum of seizure, I am inclined to release the petitioner on bail.

Petitioner, namely, Mohan Mondal shall furnish bond of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand Only) with two sureties of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand Only) each. One of whom must be local to the satisfaction of Learned Additional Sessions Judge, 8th Court Barasat, North 24 Parganas. If on bail, the petitioner shall not leave the District of 24 Parganas North without the permission of the Special Court and shall be physically present on each and every date fixed by the learned Trial Court.

Accordingly, CRM (NDPS) 1267 of 2025 is allowed. Report submitted by the State be kept with the record. All parties shall act in terms of server copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
