The present case relates to grant of permit with respect to the inter-state route, Cooch Behar Bus Stand to Ranchi.

In this writ petition, the petitioner has sought for the relief that his application dated August 16, 2024, for grant of permanent stage carriage permit be considered along with similar other applications in a single meeting by the respondent Board. Allegedly, the respondent Board had considered other applications in a meeting without taking up the application for permit submitted by the petitioner as mentioned above. The report on behalf of the respondent State Transport Authority, West Bengal is placed. From the

same, it transpires that no other similar application as that of the present petitioner for grant of permit in the inter-state route as above has yet been taken up by the State respondent for consideration and grant. Mr. Mujkhejee, learned advocate for the petitioner as well as Mr. Deb Roy for the State seek on the basis of the said report that an appropriate order be passed in this case.

Heard the submissions and perused the report submitted by the State. It appears that the writ petition by the petitioner is on the basis of his apprehension and misconceived only, in so far as the Board has not yet convened any meeting to consider the application for grant of permit in the said interstate route. In consideration of the fact as above, as it is transpiring from the report of the State respondent, the Court is inclined to dispose of the writ petition by directing the said respondent to take up the application for grant of permit for the writ petitioner dated August 16, 2024, along with all such similar applications in a single meeting whenever convened. The writ petition is disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, shall be supplied to the parties, upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
