This writ petition has been filed to implement an order dated March 24, 2023 passed in WPA 10179 of 2021.

By filing the said writ petition, the petitioner sought compassionate appointment after death of his mother, who died in harness on February 23, 2019. She was holding the post of Associate Professor at Raiganj College, Uttar Dinajpur.

The said writ petition was disposed of with a direction upon the petitioner to make a representation before the North Bengal University seeking compassionate appointment.

It has been submitted by the learned advocate for the petitioner that though the petitioner made a representation before the Vice-Chancellor of North

Bengal University, till date no decision has been communicated to the petitioner.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the Vice-Chancellor, North Bengal University to consider the prayer of compassionate appointment of the petitioner in accordance with law within a period of one month from the date of communication of this order.

Accordingly, WPA 23765 of 2023 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
