Accordingly, today, a report has been submitted by the officer-in-charge of Bidhannagar Women Police Station, Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate. The said report encloses the statement and the declaration so far as the communication made to the officer-in-charge by the o.p. no.2 namely, Sumi Priyadarshi is concerned. She has expressed in her communication that she intends to withdraw the proceedings arising out of Bidhannagar Women P.S. Case No. 2 of 2019 dated 15.1.2019 which was registered for investigation under Sections 498A/406 of the I.P.C. and Sections 3 and 4 of the D.P. Act.

Having regard to the statement and the declaration that the parties have arrived at an amicable settlement, I am of the view that further continuation of the present proceedings would result in harassment to the parties as the case arose out of matrimonial dispute and discord. Accordingly, all further proceedings arising out of Bidhanangar Women P.S. Case 02 of 2019 dated 15.1.2019 wherein charge-sheet was submitted under Sections 498A/406 of the IPC and Sections 3 and 4 of the D.P. Act pending before the ld. JM, 1st Class, Bidhannagar, North 24 Parganas, is hereby quashed.

Accordingly, CRR 3905 of 2023 along with CRAN 1 of 2023 is allowed.

Pending application, if any, is also disposed of. The report so submitted be kept with the record. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court at Calcutta.
