And In Re : Deben Barman and others ... Petitioners.
Mr. Ranjan Neogi, Mr. Moyukh Mukherjee, Mr. Karan Bapuli ... For the Petitioners.
Mr. Adil Badr, Ms. Jonaki Saha ... For the State.
Mr. Joydeep Biswas, Mr. Rishav Singh, Mr. Koushik Ghosh, Mr. Soumalya Dutta ... For the de facto complainant.
Learned advocate appearing for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are in custody for 11 months, they are innocent of the charges and have been detained unnecessarily. There are 24 witnesses on which the prosecution intends to rely upon to prove its case. Learned advocate for the de facto complainant is present and opposes the prayer for bail.
Learned advocate appearing for the State submits that on 2nd December, 2025 date has been fixed for consideration of charges.
Having considered the stage at which the petitioners have approached this Court, I am not inclined to release the petitioners on bail. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioners is rejected.
Petitioners are granted liberty to renew their prayer for bail after examination of the complainant is over. The application for bail, being CRM (M) 2004 of 2025, is, thus, dismissed.
