Mr. Arkadipta Sengupta ....for the petitioners Mr. Amitabrata Ray Mr. Pradip Kumar Ghosh ....for respondent Nos. 1,2 & 3 The petitioner No. 1 is a B. Ed. College. It has been submitted by the learned Advocate appearing for the petitioners that the College has already got recognition from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) for intake of additional fifty students.

It is the grievance of the petitioners that with regard to the increased student strength, though an inspection was conducted by the University for affiliation, till date the affiliation has not been granted by the University. Mr. Amitabrata Ray, learned Counsel representing respondent nos. 1, 2 & 3 submits that the University conducted an inspection on 23rd August, 2022. Certain deficiencies were pointed out which the College could not cure. He, however, submits that the University will conduct a fresh inspection and upon inspection if it is found that the College is now fit for affiliation in respect of intake of

additional fifty students, further steps shall be taken by the University.

In that view of the matter this writ petition is disposed of directing upon respondent Nos. 1, 2 & 3 to conduct further inspection within one month from the date of communication of this order. After the inspection is over, the University will take the follow up action in accordance with law.

With the aforesaid observations WPA 24147 of 2022 is disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon compliance of necessary formalities.
