Petitioner(s) Mr. Manojit Debnath ... for the Petitioner(s) Mr. Bitasok Banerjee Mr. Prakash Mishra ... for the State-respondent(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the subject-matter of the case relates to recovery of 28 kg of ganja from the possession of the petitioner and two other persons.

Learned advocate also submits that the petitioner is in custody for one year and four months and, there is no possibility of the trial being concluded in the near future. Learned advocate also added that similarly placed accused persons have been granted bail in connection with CRM (NDPS) 1438 of 2025 and CRM (NDPS) 1586 of 2025. Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail but is unable to distinguish the locus of the present petitioner from the other accused persons.

Having considered the above aspect, I am inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail.

Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Allowed.

Accordingly, the petitioner viz, Faroja Bibi @ Fiaroja Bibi @ Farsiya Bibi @ Farcia Bibi shall be released on bail upon furnishing bond of Rs.20,000/-(Rupees Twenty Thousand only), with two sureties of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) each, one of whom must be local, to the satisfaction of the Learned Judge Special Court under NDPS Act, Paschim Medinipur.

If on bail, the petitioner shall be physically present on each and every date of the trial so fixed by the learned trial court and shall not leave the jurisdiction of Paschim Medinipur without prior permission of the learned Trial Court/Special Court Accordingly, CRM(NDPS) 1299 of 2025 is allowed. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
