Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 1 year and 8 months and there has been no progress in the trial of the case. As such on any stringent condition petitioner may be released on bail.

Learned advocate for the State has drawn the attention of the Court to the earlier order passed in CRM (NDPS) 712 of 2025 wherein there was a specific direction to conclude the trial within a period of 14 months from the next date of hearing.

Having considered the said time period is yet to be over, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, CRM (NDPS) 1308 of 2025 is dismissed. All parties shall act in terms of server copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
