Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that he has been arraigned for alleged recovery of 260 grams of heroin and is in custody for 10 months. There is no possibility of the trial concluding in near future, as such petitioner may be released on bail.

Learned advocate for the State on the other hand opposes the prayer for bail and submits that charges have been framed and witness action would commence.

Having regard to the quantity of contraband seized, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. As such, prayer for bail of the petitioner in CRM (NDPS) 1310 of 2025 is dismissed.

However, State is directed to complete the examination of seizure list witnesses within a period of 60 days from the next date so fixed before the learned trial Court. Petitioner would renew his prayer for bail after the said period of over.

All parties shall act in terms of server copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
