Anwar Hossain Ms. Manisha Sharma ... for the State Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits he is in custody for 70 days. It is also submitted that he is a tenant of one Subrata Mondal. At his behest he has been falsely implicated in the instant case.

Learned Counsel appearing for the State opposes the prayer for bail.

We have considered the materials on record. Victim is a minor daughter of a co-tenant. Petitioner had forcibly ravished her. Matter had been referred to the landlord for settlement. Under such circumstances, we are unable to accept the submission of the petitioner that he has been falsely implicated at the behest of the landlord.

Keeping in mind the aforesaid facts and gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

The application for bail is, thus, rejected.
