1. Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits he is in custody for 618 days. It is also submitted he has been falsely implicated. He prays for bail.

2. Learned Counsel for the State opposes the prayer for bail.

3. We have considered the materials on record. Petitioner had committed robbery and assaulted an elderly lady. He has been identified in test identification parade. Co-accused who have been enlarged on bail are alleged to be receivers of stolen property and do not stand on the same footing with the petitioner. In view of nature of offence and involvement of the petitioner therein, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

4. The application for bail is, thus, rejected.

5. Trial court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. (Gaurang Kanth, J.) (Joymalya Bagchi, J.)
