Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 16 months and there has been no progress in the case. It has also been contended that petitioner is innocent of the charges and as the investigation has been concluded, further detention of the petitioner is unwarranted.

Learned advocate appearing for the de facto complainant opposes the prayer for bail and submits that there are substantial materials so far as the present petitioner is concerned.

Learned advocate appearing for the State produces the case diary and emphasises on the fact that the petitioner

being identified in the T.I. Parade by the witnesses concerned who were chasing at the relevant point of time. It has also been brought to the notice of the Court that there are similar offences in which the present petitioner was involved. Having considered the antecedents of the present petitioner as well as the gravity of the present offence, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. Case diary be returned to learned advocate appearing for the State.

The application for bail, being CRM (M) 2087 of 2025, is, thus, dismissed.
