Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner's mother was strangulated to death. She was staying at the ground floor of the same premises while the petitioner was staying on the first floor. There was a hue and cry in the locality. However, the version of the petitioner was not taken down as a written complaint. Investigation is not being done properly. Subsequently, the petitioner wrote to the police

authority naming others as suspects, but the same was not taken into consideration.

Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the State relies on the report and submits as follows. During investigation several witnesses were examined including the persons whom the petitioner has named. IMEI search of the mobile of the deceased was done. CDR analysis of the several phone numbers was done along with tower location. Some pointed fingers at the petitioner himself. A polygraph test was prayed for before the learned Magistrate, but was refused. Investigation of the case is going on and several steps have been taken by the Investigating Officer in this regard.

As such, I do not find any need to transfer the investigation to any other agency.

However, the investigation of the case shall be continued by the said Investigating Officer under the supervision of the concerned Deputy Commissioner of Police of the Barrackpore Police Commissionerate. No further order need be passed in this regard. With these observations, the instant writ petition is disposed of.
