Learned advocate appearing for Calcutta Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) submits that though an inspection was carried out for connection, it could not, however, be effected due to resistance from respondent no. 4.

It appears that there is a suit pending between the petitioner and respondent no. 4 concerning the relevant premises. The possession of the petitioner over the relevant property is, however, not in dispute.

In that view, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon CESC to restore the electricity connection of the petitioner within a period of two weeks from date, subject to compliance with additional formalities, if any, by

the petitioner.

The Officer-in-Charge of Khardah Police Station shall render necessary assistance to the officials of CESC for implementation of this order at the cost of the petitioner. Accordingly, WPA 24763 of 2024 is disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
