The petitioner is absconding for the last eight years. It is surprising that no proclamation and attachment has been made. The statement of the victim under Section 164 Cr.P.C. clearly implicates him. 2.

We direct the Superintendent of Police, Paschim Medinipur to hold an enquiry for such indulgence being shown to the petitioner and to take appropriate steps against all the persons responsible for not taking appropriate steps against the petitioner.

This order should be immediately communicated to the Superintendent of Police, Paschim Medinipur by the office of the learned Public Prosecutor for information and doing the needful.

Accordingly, the application for anticipatory bail is dismissed. 5.
