The petitioners shall put in the deficit court fees, if not already paid, in course of this day.

The petitioners were appointed as part-time teachers in the Department of Islamic Theology at Aliah University by an office order dated September 13, 2017. It is the grievance of the petitioners that after serving for about twelve years, they are entitled to enhanced remuneration in terms of Government Order No: 2081-Edn. (CS)/10M-83/2019 dated 23.12.2019 read with Government Order No: 427/EH/O/CS/10M83/2019 dated 14.07.2020. Mr. Ekramul Bari, learned advocate appearing for the petitioners submits that the Registrar of the University by a letter dated September 09, 2020 submitted a proposal for fixation of remuneration of the petitioners with all relevant papers. The said prayer

was repeated by subsequent representations from the end of the Registrar of the University. Despite such communications, no effective steps have been taken by the State to re-fix the remuneration of the petitioners. Having regard to the nature of the prayer made in this writ petition, I am not inclined to keep this writ petition pending.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the Secretary, Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education of the State to consider the communication made by the Registrar of Aliah University as indicated above within three months from the date of communication of this order in accordance with law and to pass a reasoned order. Needless to mention that immediately after passing the reasoned order, the same should be communicated to the petitioners.

Accordingly, WPA 23985 of 2023 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
