The exception filed by the petitioner be taken on record.

2. The petitioner has filed the present writ application praying for a direction upon the respondent nos. 2 and 3 for renewal of the passport.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is having the passport but the validity of the passport was expired. The petitioner has made an application for renewal but the same was rejected on the ground that the criminal case is pending against the petitioner.

The learned ASGI appearing for the respondents submits that there are altogether seven cases are pending against the petitioner before the learned Magistrate Court and if the petitioner intends to renew the passport, he has to obtain permission from each and every case from the learned Magistrate's Court.

5. The petitioner has also disclosed the details of the cases pending before the different Court at Kolkata. He submits that out of seven cases one case has already been dropped and further six cases are pending.

6. In view of the above, this Court finds that no order can be passed in the present writ application by directing the authorities for renewal of the passport as prayed for by the petitioner. The petitioner is at liberty to approach before the Criminal Court where the cases are pending and to obtain permission from the learned Court in each and every cases. If the petitioner made any application before the learned Magistrate, the learned Magistrate shall dispose of the said application in accordance with law taking into consideration of notification dated August 25, 1993 within a period of two weeks from the date of filing of this application.

7. WPA 24409 of 2025 is disposed of.

8. Urgent Xerox certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
