The Amherst Street P.S. has filed a report dated 1st February, 2023 and the same is kept with the record.

It appears that the respondent no.4 Amrita Das, daughter of Late Biplab Das and the respondent no.3 Bharati Das, has been admitted to the Pavlov Hospital by the Amherst Street P.S. The other respondent Bharati Das has been admitted to Calcutta National Medical College Hospital where she is undergoing treatment and she is likely to be discharged soon.

This Court appreciates the actions of the Amherst Street P.S. in assisting the ill citizens. It is submitted by the Officer-in-Charge, Amherst Street P.S. that Bharati Das may be discharged from the hospital would require assistance for her upkeep. The police is not aware of the financial status of the said Bharati Das. In the above circumstances the Amherst

Street P.S. may locate the said Bharati Das either in State Welfare Home commensurate with her age and status or any other NGO that is recognized by the State, to take care of such persons.

The room of the said two private respondents has been locked by the Amherst Street P.S. to ensure the safety of their belongings. Upon the said Bharati Das returning from the hospital and after ascertaining her physical and mental condition, keys to their room may be handed back to her.

With the above directions, the writ petition stands disposed of.

However, there shall be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official wesbite of this Court.
