Mr. Ajay Datta Mr. Birendra Nath Manna ..for the petitioner Ms. Tapati Samanta ...for the State Mr. Debjani Ghosal ...for the EPF Petitioner by presenting this writ petition has prayed for payment of interest due to delayed payment of provident fund for the period from 30th November, 2010 to 7th November, 2015. Such claim has been laid based on order dated 18th November, 2015 passed by a coordinate Bench on the previous writ petition being WPA 24097 of 2015. Today, a communication has been filed by the District Inspector of Schools (SE), Howrah dated 4th December, 2024 wherein it has been indicated since petitioner retired on superannuation on 30th November, 2010 in three phases payments were made to the petitioner. Towards provident fund amount with interest upto 2006-2007 Rs. 4,95,419/- was paid to the petitioner on 11th December, 2012. In the second phase towards provident fund due along with interest for the period from 2007-2008 to 2010-2011 Rs. 1,43,562/- was paid to the petitioner. Lastly, Rs. 78048/- was paid to the petitioner

vide cheque no. 062388 dated 18th January, 2016 for interest till 7th November, 2015 for delayed payment as per direction of the coordinate Bench dated 18th November, 2015. Communication of the District Inspector of Schools (SE) Howrah dated 4th December, 2024 is taken on record. The learned advocate representing the petitioner is not disputing the last payment which was made to the tune of Rs. 78048/- vide cheque dated 18th January, 2016. Therefore, this Court does not find any requirement to grant opportunity to the petitioner to respond to this communication of the concerned District Inspector of Schools (SE) dated 4th December, 2024.

On perusal of the communication dated 4th December, 2024 and taking note of the order dated 18th November, 2015 passed by the coordinate Bench it appears interest which was directed to be paid till 7th November, 2015 due to delayed payment was paid to the petitioner which was quantified as Rs. 78048/- vide a cheque dated 18th January, 2016.

In view of aforesaid payments made by the State authorities no further order need be passed on this writ petition.

Writ petition stands disposed of.
