Despite service, no one appears on behalf of the private respondents.

Report filed on behalf of the State is also taken on record.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits as follows. The petitioners are sharing the same roof with the private respondents.

Of late, the private respondents have been disturbing and intimidating the petitioners over possession of the property in question. In fact, they were trying to demolish a part of the roof which was objected to as a precautionary measure. This resulted in further escalation of violence on the part of the private respondents. They attacked and committed sexual assault upon the family members. A complaint was made before the police, but they have not acted in accordance with law. None

of the accused was arrested. The police are still not taking any action. The petitioners are fearing for their lives. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State denies any police inaction, relies on the report and submits as follows. On the complaint of the petitioners, a specific FIR was registered. A charge sheet was submitted. The accused are on bail. However, the police are keeping a close watch on the developments in the locality.

It appears that a dispute exists between the private parties over their stay under the same roof.

It further appears that the police have taken necessary steps by registering an FIR on the complaint of the petitioners.

Therefore, no further order need be passed in this regard.

However, the police authorities shall keep a sharp vigil at the locale and ensure that no breach of peace takes place. The surveillance shall include frequent visits by police patrols.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of.
