Petitioner prays for anticipatory bail.

Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner attempted to mediate between parties in respect of a police complaint and, thereafter, was falsely implicated in the proceedings.

Learned Advocate appearing for the State draws the attention of the Court to the materials in the case diary. The materials in the case diary suggest that the petitioner and the other co-accused who is the brother of the petitioner are involved in extortion. Firearms was recovered on the leading statement made by the co-accused who is the brother of the petitioner.

Considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner as transpiring from the materials in the case diary, immediate custodial interrogation of the petitioner cannot be

overlooked and as such, the prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected.

C.R.M. (A) 5193 of 2022 is dismissed.
