Affidavit of service filed by the petitioner and report submitted by the State are taken on record. Copy of the report is made over to the learned counsel for the petitioner in Court this day.

Heard learned counsels for the parties.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was kidnapped and rescued by the police. He has been receiving continuous threats from the accused persons for which he approached the police authority several times but to no effect.

By an order passed on 7th June, 2024 in GR Case No.269 of 2024, the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Arambagh, Hooghly directed the IC, Arambagh PS to provide necessary protection as may be needed to the petitioner.

The petitioner submitted a further representation before the police authority on 18th September, 2025 which has not been acted upon. The petitioner seeks protection.

Learned counsel for the State submits that the petitioner is an employee of the Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, Tarakeswar Branch and it transpires on enquiry that the petitioner got in touch with one Kuntal Koley and his sister Rumi Chawli who asked for a loan from the company. The petitioner demanded Rs.63,000/- from Rumi Chawli for sanctioning the loan. Though the said amount was paid, the loan was not sanctioned. Later on, the petitioner arranged for a Life Insurance Policy in the name of Rumi Chawli of a premium of Rs.52,250/- out of Rs.63,000/-. This gave rise to a dispute between the parties.

On receipt of representation from the petitioner, enquiry was held and prayer for permission to hold detailed enquiry is pending before the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Purba Bardhaman.

In view of the above, this Court is inclined to hold that since the petitioner apprehends breach of his life and property and was granted protection by the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Arambagh, the police authority is directed to render necessary assistance/protection to the petitioner as and when required.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted.
