1. The limited grievance of the petitioners is that the petitioners suffered damages due to installation of hightension electricity supply over the land of the petitioners.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that despite representations, compensation has not yet been awarded to the petitioners.

3. Heard learned counsel for the parties.

4. The petitioners are entitled to compensation for damages, if any, done to the petitioners' property due to any work undertaken by the respondent-licensee.

5. In such view of the matter, WPA No. 24056 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the respondent nos. 3 and 4 to ensure that upon hearing being given to the petitioners and upon scrutiny of the relevant materials, the petitioners' claims for compensation is decided upon as

expeditiously as possible and in accordance with law, preferably within two months from date.

6. After such assessment, if the petitioners are found to be entitled to compensation, the said respondents shall ensure that the compensation is disbursed to the petitioners at the earliest, preferably within a fortnight thereafter.

7. In the event the petitioners are aggrieved with the quantum or non-grant of compensation, it will be open to the petitioners to prefer an appropriate challenge against the same.

8. There will be no order as to costs.

9. Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
