It does not appear that all the private respondents could be served with notice. However, they are allegedly in the shoes of accused in several cases started by the petitioner. Report filed on behalf of the State is also taken on record.

A copy of the same is handed over to the learned counsel for the petitioner.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. One person had taken money from the petitioner. When it was demanded, the private respondents started torturing the petitioner and her family members. Several attacks took place in the house of the petitioner. Every time the petitioner lodged a complaint before the police, such atrocities were repeated. Now, the petitioner cannot even return to her home out of fear.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State relies on the report and submits as follows. All the complaints made

by the petitioner or from her side have been entertained. Reliance is placed on a list of three FIRs and several other proceedings initiated in this regard under Section 107 of the Code. The police are keeping a close watch on the developments in the locality.

Admittedly, the petitioner is the owner of the landed property in question. She alleges that because she lodged complaints against the private respondents, she was subjected to wanton atrocities and consequently, is unable to return home out of fear.

In the event the petitioner wants to return home, she shall intimate the intended date and time of return to the Officerin-Charge of Panskura Police Station with a 24 hour's notice. The concerned Officer shall take necessary steps to arrange for police escort so that the petitioner could return to her residence. Even thereafter, the police authorities shall keep a strict vigil at the locale so that no breach of peace takes place. The surveillance shall include frequent visits by police partrols.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order may be supplied to the parties expeditiously, if applied for. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
