Petitioner(s) Mr. Jaydeep Biswas Mr. Asraf Mondal ... for the Petitioner(s) Mr. Sanjoy Banerjee Ms. Afreen Begum ... for the State-respondent(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for nearly one year six months and there are no materials to substantiate further detention of the present petitioner as he has been detained only on the basis of statement of a co-accused.

On the other hand, learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and draws the attention of the court to the order dated 16.07.2025 passed in CRM (NDPS) 514 of 2025 which reflects regarding the money trail as well as CDR which would associate the present petitioner with the offence. The order also reflects that on an assessment of the facts, the Co-ordinate Bench was pleased to hold that the rigours of Section 37 of the NDPS Act are attracted.

It has also been brought to the notice of this court that only one witness is left for examination. Having regard to the same and the fact that in CRM (NDPS) 1361 of 2025, this court was pleased to direct the learned trial court to pronounce its verdict within four months from the date communication of the order, at this stage, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected.

Accordingly, CRM(NDPS) 1401 of 2025 is dismissed. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
