APP Mr. Ashok Das ... for the State-respondent(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for one year ten months and similarly placed accused persons have been granted bail by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Appeal (Crl.) No(s). 6984 of 2025. Learned advocate for the State, on the other hand, submits that only one witness has been left to be examined. The order of the Hon'ble Apex Court dated 13.10.2025 reflects that the driver - being the petitioner was granted bail.

Be that as it may, every bail order is passed on an appreciation of limited facts for the purpose of bail.

Having regard to the belated stage, I am of the opinion that the prayer for bail of the present petitioner, at this stage, cannot be allowed.

Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected.

However, the learned trial court is directed to expedite the process so that within a period of four months verdict is pronounced.

Accordingly, CRM(NDPS) 1361 of 2025 is dismissed. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
