Since the innocuous prayer of the petitioner is for expeditious disposal of G.R. case no. 1093 of 2015 pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate, 2nd Court, Serampore, the matter may be disposed of without service of notice upon the opposite parties. The opposite parties shall not be prejudiced by an order directing expeditious disposal of the case.

It appears that the charge sheet was submitted on 31st July, 2015 and plea was recorded by the learned trial Court on 8th August, 2016. Since then, only one out of ten charge sheeted witnesses has been examined in full and the 2nd witness has been examined in part.

Considering the age of the proceeding, the learned trial Court is directed to conclude the trial within one year from the next date of hearing fixed before him without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties, in accordance with law. Accordingly, CRR 4329 of 2024 is disposed of. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. (Suvra Ghosh, J.)
