Mr. Diptendu Narayan Banerjee ... for the State-respondent(s) A report has been submitted by the Inspector-in-charge of Egra Police Station, which reflects that a police picket is existing and the system is operated pursuant to the directions passed by this Court on 20.11.2024.

It has been submitted that the District Magistrate, pursuant to the directions, had once called a meeting in the month of December, 2024 and, only one person, namely, Mouson Ali Khan of Erendabarh village has been allowed to

enter into the religious place for 'Azan'.

The rituals have been continuing through the said Mouson Ali Khan.

The petitioner submits that since 1st March, 2025 'Ramjan' is to commence, as such, some relaxation may be made in terms of the religious place.

Since the district administration is thick and thin of the law and order situation, having regard to the tension prevailing in the village and the history of the incident which happened in respect to the particular religious place, I grant liberty to the District Magistrate, which would be his/her exclusive domain for taking a decision whether to relax the condition or not and for that purpose he/she would assess the ground reality and, if required, call for a further meeting amongst the villagers concerned.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 25076 of 2024 is disposed of.

Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of.
