Petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 1 year 8 months and there is no scope of the trial commencing in near future as some of the accused persons are absconding. It has been submitted that the petitioner is similarly placed as the other accused persons who have been released on bail by this Court in CRM (M) 1863 of 2025, CRM(M) 1873 of 2025 and CRM(M) 1979 of 2025, as such, the same benefit may be extended to the petitioner. Learned advocate appearing for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that there were recovery of offending weapon at the behest of the present petitioner and the petitioner, as such, is not similarly situated as the other accused persons who have been granted bail.

Learned advocate appearing for the de facto complainant opposes the prayer for bail and submits that the present petitioner is thickly connected with the offence.

Be that as it may, I find from the seizure list dated 16.03.2024 at the instance of the present petitioner the offending weapon was recovered from him.

Having considered that the present petitioner is not similarly situated as the other accused persons, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner in CRM (M)2172 of 2025 is dismissed. Report so submitted be kept with the record.
