Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is being harassed and humiliated by the private respondent nos. 7 and 8 who happen to be the son and daughter-in-law.
It has been further complained that the petitioner is a senior citizen and he is not allowed to live peacefully and there has been excess inflicted upon him by the private respondents.
Learned advocate appearing for the State has submitted a report.
Report reflects that the police authorities have drawn proceedings under Section 107 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
I have assessed the spirit of the writ petition and I direct that the Inspector-in-Charge of Liluah Police Station
will deploy a lady police personnel who would on alternate days visit the residence and assess regarding the harassment and humiliation, if any, being inflicted upon the present petitioner.
Such arrangement will continue for a period of four weeks. In the meantime, petitioner would approach the appropriate authority under the provisions of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. In case any order is passed by the said Tribunal, police authorities would respect and obey such order and ensure that the same is not violated.
With the aforesaid observations, the instant writ petition being WPA 25161 of 2024 is disposed of. Report so submitted be kept with the record.
Copy of the report be handed over to the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner.
