Roy ..for the respondent nos. 3 & 4 It is the grievance of the petitioners that they have made a representation before the Executive Officer, Chakdaha Panchayat Samiti, District-Nadia for allowing them to operate the Raninagar Ferry Service, Nadia by a letter dated September 25, 2023. Till date the said representation has not been considered. The petitioners seek a direction upon the said Executive Officer for consideration of their representation dated September 25, 2023.

The prayer of the petitioners has been opposed by the State.

The State submits that by way of a public auction

the operation of the public ferry service has been entrusted with the highest bidder in the tender process for a period of two years.

Hence there is no scope for consideration of the prayer of the petitioners by the Executive Officer, Chakdaha.

I find justification in the stand of the State. Therefore, I am not inclined to pass any order in this writ petition.

I needless to mention that dismissal of this writ petition shall not prevent the petitioners to participate in the tender process in future for operation of relevant public ferry Service.

WPA 24151 of 2023 is disposed of.
