The petitioner seeks interest on account of delayed payment of the terminal dues of her husband who was an approved assistant teacher of a high school and who died-in-harness on December 28, 2022. The Pension Payment Order was issued in favour of the petitioner on November 2, 2023.

From the report forwarded by the District of Inspector of Schools (SE), Bankura signed on December 24, 2025, it appears that the pension application was made in June 2023 and that the soft copy and hard copy of the pension application was forwarded by the head of the institution in September 2023. After proper verification, PPO was issued on November 2, 2023.

From the time-line as mentioned hereinabove, it does not appear that there has been any delay on the part of the respondent authorities in issuing the PPO.

In view of the above, the petitioner's prayer seeking interest on account of delayed payment of
terminal dues cannot be accepted.

The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed. 6.
All parties are to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
