The injured in his statement recorded under Section 161 of the Code of Criminal Procedure implicates the petitioner in the assault on him.

The police filed charge-sheet.

In such circumstances, considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner therein as appearing from the materials in the case diary, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected and the application being CRM (A) 5219 of 2022 is dismissed.
