As many as fifteen petitioners seek compensation on account of illegal excavation of their private land.

They submit that by virtue of an earlier order dated December 21, 2023 passed by this Court, excavated portion of their land has been restored and filled up, but compensation is yet to be paid. 3.

After hearing submission, the petitioners are granted leave to make a comprehensive representation before the concerned District Magistrate highlighting their grievances.

In the event such a representation is made giving details, the same shall be considered by the District Magistrate in accordance with the prevailing law, after giving reasonable opportunity of hearing to all the necessary parties and disposed of by a reasoned decision at the earliest, but positively within a period of twelve weeks from the date of filing of such representation. 5.

The writ petition is thus disposed of.
