It is the grievance of the petitioner that on the basis of some incorrect allegations, he has been removed from the position of the Head of the Department, Journalism and Mass Communication of Vivekananda College, Kolkata. It is further grievance of the petitioner that by a letter dated July 27, 2022, the petitioner was given certain directives which are stigmatic in nature.

The petitioner acknowledges before this Court that he was appointed as the Head of the Department in the year 2017.

From the report filed by the college, it appears that the Governing Body of the College adopted a resolution on April 22, 2017 to the effect that

Headship of the Department will be rotational in every three years according to the seniority and be rotated amongst the permanent whole-time contractual teachers only.

I am of the view that the petitioner cannot have any grievance for his removal as the Head of the Department after about five years from the date of his appointment.

The directives contained in the letter dated July 27, 2022 are as follows:

"1.

Do not get involved in giving „Private Tuition‟ of College Students.

2.

Strictly adhere to the timings of the General Routine of the College.

3.

Do not overstay in the department after the College hours.

4.

Do not make any comment on the status of the teachers."

I am of the view that these are simple administrative directions which the petitioner should abide. I do not find any reason to interfere with such directives.

Accordingly, WPA 24199 of 2023 is dismissed.
