1. This is an application under Article 227 of the Constitution of India praying for a direction upon the learned Additional District Judge, 8th Court at Alipore, South 24-Parganas to dispose of the pending applications in connection with Matrimonial Suit No. 87 of 2008 within a fixed time-frame.

2. The learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the application under section 24 of the Hindu Marriage Act filed by the wife/opposite party herein as well as an application under Order 12 Rule 6 of the Code of Civil Procedure filed by the petitioner/husband are ready for hearing and the date has been fixed for hearing of the said applications on February 5, 2025.

3. In view of the order sought and proposed to be passed, this Court feels that there is no necessity to direct issuance of notice upon the opposite party. However, the learned advocate for the petitioner shall be obliged to forward a copy of this application as well as this order upon the opposite party forthwith.

4. Considering the fact that the applications are pending for quite a long time and the same is ready for hearing, C.O. 3616 of 2024 is disposed of by requesting the learned Additional District Judge, 8th Court at Alipore, South 24-Pargans to take up hearing of the said applications on the next date fixed i.e. on February 5, 2025 and to make an endeavour to dispose of the same as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.

5. There shall be, however, no order as to costs.

6. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be furnished to the parties expeditiously upon compliance of all legal formalities.
