The petitioners complain that the petitioners' application for organizing a Durga Puja on the petitioners' own property is not being accepted by the authorities. 2.

Learned counsel for the State submits that the State, as a matter of policy, is not accepting new applications for Pujas.

However, keeping in view the petitioners' right to organize a Puja, which is an integral part of the right to live with dignity of the petitioners and associated rights, WPA 24268 of 2023 is disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioners to file a fresh application for organizing Puja as sought by the petitioners within a week from date before the respondent no. 7, that is, the Sub-Divisional Officer, Egra.

If such an application is filed by the petitioners, the respondent no.7 shall consider the same and, within three days, grant permission to the petitioners to organize Puja subject, of course, to the petitioners complying all due formalities otherwise required by law.

All parties shall act on the written communication of the learned Advocates for the parties coupled with server copy of this order, without insisting upon prior production of a certified copy.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
