1. By this public interest writ petition the petitioners seek a direction upon the Zilla Parishad to immediately take steps to ensure that the road leading to the ferry, namely, Jalalpur Ferry Ghat is properly maintained.

2. The learned advocate appearing for the Zilla Parishad, on instruction, would submit that already the officers and engineers have inspected the place and report will be drawn and placed before the appropriate Committee of the Zilla Parishad and action will be taken.

3. Considering that the road has to be properly maintained and it is the duty of the Zilla Parishad to ensure the same in public interest, we direct the 5th and 6th respondents to speed up the entire matter,

examine the report which is submitted and approve the cost for maintaining the road leading to the ferry, namely, Jalalpur Ferry Ghat properly.

4. This direction be complied with within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of the server copy of this order.

5. Upon successful completion of work, a report be submitted to the District Magistrate, Murshidabad by the Secretary of the Zilla Parishad.

6. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of.
