1. The petitioners who are existing operators are indirectly challenging the decision taken by the Transport Department of Government of West Bengal in issuing notification dated 29th February, 2024 with regard to the grant of fresh auto-rickshaw permits for a particular sector as mentioned in serial no.562.

2. Since the petitioners being directly interested in the matter, this writ petition cannot be treated as a public interest writ petition.

3. However, it will be open to the petitioners to pursue the representation before the authorities or to avail other remedies which are available under law.

4. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of.
