The affidavit-of-service filed in Court today be kept on record.

The innocuous prayer made in the present application is that the application for restoration and application for condonation of delay in the filing the same, being MA No. 482 of 2025 and MA No. 483 of 2025, filed before the First Bench, West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal in connection with OA No. 2628 of 2008 (LRTT), be disposed of expeditiously.

Although the applications have been filed only in May, 2025 and there would otherwise be no scope of any direction for expeditious hearing, we find that the next date has been fixed on February 11, 2026, that is, about nine months after the filing of the applications, which, according to us, is inordinately long.

Be that as it may, since the respondents do not choose to appear despite service, the affidavit-of-service is kept on record and further service on the respondents is

dispensed with, particularly since the nature of the order proposed to be passed is innocuous.

Accordingly, WPLRT No. 182 of 2025 is disposed of by requesting the First Bench, West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal, to dispose of the two applications, respectively for restoration and condonation of delay, bearing MA No. 482 of 2025 and MA No. 483 of 2025, filed by the petitioner in connection with OA No. 2628 of 2008 (LRTT), as expeditiously as possible, positively by the end of February, 2026, by taking up the same for hearing on the returnable date, that is, February 11, 2026. 6.

There will be no order as to costs.
