1. The petitioner has highlighted a very important issue with regard to non-filling up of vacancies in Kamdebnagar Junior High School. It appears that initially there were three vacancies from the year 2019 out of which two vacancies have now been filled up and one post is still lying vacant. Since the necessity to have full strength of teachers in a school is important for the children to have good education, the authorities should take certain expeditious steps to fill up such post.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondent WBCSSC submits that till the Government issues the vacancies statement and direction for filling up various vacant posts, the Service Commission will not be in a position to act. Furthermore, the process to be adopted by the Service Commission is a long term process and may take sufficient time. However, till the entire process is completed, the post cannot be left vacant.

3. Therefore, we direct the 2nd and 3rd respondent herein to immediately take steps to post a teacher in the said school as an interim measure till the recruitment process is completed. Any surplus teachers in the neighbouring schools can be accommodated in the vacant post and in this regard, an appropriate order be passed by the respondent nos. 2 and 3. This direction be complied with within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of the server copy of this order.

4. With above directions, the writ petition stands disposed of.
