Learned advocate appearing on behalf of the contemnors has filed before this Court a report signed by the engineers of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Building Department, Borough-VII mentioning that steps were taken under Sections 400(1) and 416 of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation Act, 1980 and order of demolition has been passed on 8th September, 2025. 2.

Necessary steps for compliance of the said order will be taken in due course.

It appears that the said order has been passed allegedly in compliance of the direction passed by the Court on 29th November, 2022.

The Court noticed that the Corporation took steps under Section 400(1) and disposed of the writ petition by directing the authority to conclude the proceeding initiated under Section 400(1) at the earliest but latest within twelve weeks from the date of communication of the order.

The order passed in the year 2022 appears to have been complied with in September 2025.

6.

The report filed today mentions that the order passed under Section 400(1) and 416 will be complied in due course.

The petitioner is granted liberty to take steps for execution of the order in accordance with law, if so advised.

The contempt application stands disposed of.

9.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
