Learned advocate also submits that out of the 29 witnesses proposed to be examined by the prosecution, only one witness has been examined till date and there is no possibility of the trial being concluded in the near future. Learned advocate for State opposes the prayer for bail.

In view of the submissions advanced by the parties, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected.

However, I direct that the learned trial court would within 15th May, 2026 complete at least examination of 10 witnesses. No unnecessary adjournments be granted to any of the parties and the trial of the case would continue inspite of any resolution of the local Bar.

The petitioner would be at liberty to renew his prayer for bail after 15th May, 2026, in case, there has been noncompliance of the directions passed above. Accordingly, CRM (M) 2211 of 2025 is dismissed. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
