The petitioner renews his prayer for bail which was rejected on merits by a coordinate bench on April 18, 2024 passed in CRM (DB) 1163 of 2024. The coordinate bench recorded that the petitioner had absconded for a protracted period of time and proclamation had to be issued. The Bench also recorded that the petitioner had sufficient motive to commit the crime. 2.

We do not find any change in circumstances so as to warrant reconsideration of the petitioner's prayer for bail on merits. The petitioner says that he is in custody for more than one year. However, we see that the trial is in progress and 7 out of 19 charge sheet named witnesses have already been examined. Therefore, it cannot be said that there is any inordinate delay in the trial. 3.

In view of the aforesaid, we are not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail, at this stage.

CRM (DB) 3504 of 2024 is, thus, dismissed.

However, considering that the petitioner is in judicial custody for more than a year, we direct the learned Trial Court to make all efforts to expedite the trial and conclude the same on an early date.
