A report has been filed by the Executive Officer, Gayeshpur Municipality mentioning that on February 16, 2023 the illegal construction on the subject plot has been removed/demolished in presence of the respondent nos. 7, 8, 9 and other persons. As on date no illegal construction exists on any portion of the land in question.

The Sub-Divisional Officer, Kalyani, Nadia has forwarded a report signed on January 24, 2023 mentioning that the plot in question was recorded in favour of the Development Department of Refugee Rehabilitation Department, Government of West Bengal. The petitioners do not appear to have any permission for raising any construction at the subject premises.

In view of the fact that the unauthorized construction has since been demolished, there is no requirement of proceeding with the writ petition any further.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
