BIBEK CHAUDHURI, J. : - 1.

This is an application filed by the complainant of Case No. CNS no. 417 of 2020 (F. No. CNS/16400/2020) being a complaint under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instrument Act praying for a direction upon the trial court for expeditious disposal of the case.

It is found from the record that the complaint under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instrument Act was filed on 28th August, 2020. Subsequently the accused person surrendered before the learned Metropolitan Magistrate, 8th Court, Calcutta and was granted bail on 8th January, 2021. Several dates were fixed for taking plea but could not be done. The petitioner further files an application under Section 143A of the Negotiable Instrument Act which was heard on 29th August, 2022 and fixed 18th November, 2022 for further hearing and order.

Under such circumstances, the instant criminal revision is disposed of directing the trial court to conclude hearing of the petition under section 143A of NI Act and conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible by taking necessary step to secure attendance of the accused within six months from the next date of hearing.
