1. The petitioners appearing in persons by way of public interest litigation seek for appropriate direction upon the respondents, more particularly the 3rd respondent to adopt the particular technique by using Nylon crates with gunny/poly cement bags to prevent bank erosion along with the river Ganges.

2. The petitioners would point out that work order was issued on 15th September, 2023 which is not appropriate technology or methodology and in any event the said work order has also not been complied with till date.

3. In this regard, the petitioners have sent a lawyer's notice on 20th September, and complaining that no action has been taken, the petitioners have approached this court. The petitioners have also enclosed a photograph of certain works done in the State of Bihar and it is submitted that

permanent solution has to be made, otherwise the public will be greatly affected. It is also submitted that on account of erosion the outpost of the Border Security Force in the area has also been washed out.

4. In the light of the above, we direct the petitioners to submit a comprehensive representation to the 3rd respondent along with the copy of this order suggesting ways and means as to how best the banks of river can be protected from erosion and if the representation is made, the 3rd respondent shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of the representation.

5. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of.
