This matter appears "For Correction" of judgment dated 29th July, 2024. At paragraph 22 page 7 of the said judgment this Court directed the Insurance Company to deposit the awarded sum with the office of the learned Registrar General, High Court, Calcutta within six weeks from the date of passing of this order.
It appears that the Insurance Company has already deposited the statutory amount of Rs. 25,000/- with the office of the learned Registrar General, High Court, Calcutta and also deposited an amount of Rs. 6,89,759/- by virtue of a Challan No.1835 dated 19.09.2023.
That being the situation the direction at page 7 paragraph 22 of the judgment is required to be modified. Hence, the paragraph No. 22 is hereby rewritten as follows:-
"22. The Insurance Company has already deposited an amount of Rs.
25,000/- as a statutory deposit and an amount of Rs.
6,89,759/- vide OD Challan No. 1835 dated 19.09.2023.
The said amount has been invested in a short term renewable fixed deposit scheme and must have accrued some interest.
The office of the learned Registrar General, High Court, Calcutta is herby directed to disburse the same amount along with accrued interest in favour of the claimants as directed by this Court in the judgment itself.
After receiving such amount the claimants are directed to inform the Insurance Company regarding the amount they received together with the account details within two weeks from the date of receipt of such amount.
The Insurance Company on such communication shall disburse the rest amount along with interest as per the direction of this Court to the claimants within six weeks from the date of the communication directly to the account of the claimants".
The rest portions of the said order shall remain unaltered.
