1. Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record.

2. The petitioner claims that she belongs to the Other Backward Classes. She applied for recruitment in terms of the 2nd SLST (AT), 2025.

3. She claims that she applied for obtaining OBC Certificate on 23rd September, 2025 but the certificate was issued on 10th October, 2025. Due to delayed issuance of the OBC certificate, she could not update her details in accordance with the notice of the Commission dated 22nd September, 2025.

4. Prayer has been made to permit the petitioner to submit the OBC Certificate before the concerned authority.

5. On a perusal of the notice dated 22nd September, 2025 it appears that the Commission permitted updating of caste details from 22nd September, 2025 to 26th September, 2025.

6. Learned advocate representing the Commission opposes the prayer of the petitioner.

7. It has been submitted that as the caste certificate of the petitioner was not available within the cutoff date, accordingly, she will not be entitled to the benefit of reservation.

8. Admittedly, the caste certificate was not issued in favour of the petitioner within the cutoff date. The same, though applied within the aforesaid time period, but was actually issued in her favour long after the expiry of the cutoff date.

9. The Court is of the opinion that, as the petitioner could not update the details of her caste within the stipulated time period, accordingly, at this stage, the prayer of the petitioner directing the authority to update her caste details cannot be allowed.

10. If the prayer of the petitioner is allowed, then several other candidates who may have applied for obtaining the reservation certificate prior to the cutoff date but received the same later on will be deprived from the benefit extended to the petitioner.

11. In view of the above, the relief sought for by the petitioner cannot be allowed.

12. The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed.
