The petitioner is a very unfortunate father. His son, currently 18 years of age, is suffering from various psychiatric, psychological and neurological medical complications for the last five years. The petitioner has tried to give his son the best medical treatment, but he has been advised that the chance of recovery is minimal.

The petitioner is suffering from financial crisis and he seeks the assistance of the fourth respondent for admitting his son in the hospital for treatment. A prayer has been made by the petitioner before the Superintendent, Calcutta Pavlov Hospital (Pavlov Hospital & Centre of Excellence on Mental Health) and the State authorities, but there is no response either from the end of the fourth respondent or the State. Hence this writ petition. 3.

The petitioner submits that the condition of his son is deteriorating rapidly and prayer has been made for early intervention and assistance from the fourth respondent.

I have perused the report filed by the Chief Medical

Officer of Health, South 24 Parganas signed on November 11, 2024. The officer concerned has assured assistance as needed.

In view of the above, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the third respondent - the Chief Medical Officer of Health, South 24 Parganas to follow up the matter with the fourth respondent - the Superintendent, Calcutta Pavlov Hospital (Pavlov Hospital & Centre of Excellence on Mental Health) - for admission of the petitioner's son in the Calcutta Pavlov Hospital.

Steps shall be taken in the matter positively by November 25, 2024.

It will be open for the aforesaid respondents to take the assistance of the Inspector-in-Charge, Jaynagar police station to assist the officers of the respondent authorities to carry the son of the petitioner to the hospital, if necessary.

All parties are to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this court.

Certified copy of this order, if applied for, shall be made available to the parties.
